Discovery Parks - Byron Bay - Stage 1 Development

11 Jan 2016

Adelaide based Discovery Parks has announced the completion of Stage One of its major redevelopment of the Byron Bay Park with further stages rolling out over the next two months.

Completed in time for the summer season are 16 new waterfront cabins built at a cost of $3 million and a massive new waterpark, 500sqm in size with a 3 metre high waterslide and a ¼ million litre free form lagoon style swimming pool.

The waterfront cabins are idyllically located on the north western side of the Park, positioned to take in the view from the lake. Each cabin has a private deck that is cantilevered over the lake ensuring prime waterfront location.

“These new waterfront cabins are the centrepiece of our development at Byron” said Discovery Parks Chief Marketing Officer Dana Ronan “They bring a real experiential element to accommodation with their quality finishing’s and unique waterfront positioning and, we believe, will change the perception of Holiday Park accommodation”.

The cabins have been uniquely designed with a shared entry such that they can be let as either a family three bedroom apartment, or as a studio or two bedroom apartment giving the Park much more flexibility in its room stock offering.

“Alongside the new cabins is our waterpark – one of the biggest caravan park waterparks in Australia and certainly the largest in the suite of Discovery properties”, said Discovery Parks Chief Marketing Officer Dana Ronan.  Significantly, the waterpark has been designed with a zero depth splash pad allowing minimal opportunity for water evaporation, with water cycled back into a balance tank where is treated and reused ensuring maximum efficiency of resources”.

The waterpark and the new cabins propel the park and the Byron Bay region into an affordable destination for families with a destination park specifically designed for young families with children aged 0-12, providing affordable and value for money family experiences.
